It's the first day of travelling in Japan so we have not gotten the hang of things yet. We woke up about 8am, relaxed at the house before heading out. Hamamachi Arcade is within walking distance, I found out about it only a couple of nights later. Driving there, however, just didn't feel so.

We reached close to noon, tried to find a restaurant that's willing to accommodate us all but Japan, being a place with small seating arrangements, we ended up eating on the street. The kids had theirs while arh b and I did a takeaway from a nearby restaurant. Mental Note: we don't really fancy Japanese food. It looks all beautiful, appetizing but Aussie food is way up our food list.

Everyday, we walk the slopes from the Airbnb to the car. It's about a 10 minutes walk down. Part cobblestone, part regular tarmac and the rest just screed flooring. We stayed next to a cemetery and walk past it daily. It doesn't really give the creeps as in Japan, the living live with the dead. They can co-exist so nothing to fear, I tell myself when we walked back in the dead of the night. haha

The walk up can be daunting especially with whiny kids, more so with bottled water. But I come to know, the walk up really works the heart. The old folks walk as well, there are no grocery deliveries. They carry their load up the slopes and that must be their secret to living to a ripe old age.

Buildings here are old. It is great to take photos along the way to the carpark.

So here it is. In the first photo, the carpark is just by the mouth of the street that we're headed up from. Everyday, we walk this street and into a temple just round the corner. It's a walk up everyday and it is not some gentle gradient. It gives the heart and legs a good workout though. I enjoy the daily walks.
